This policy explains what this website collects, why, and what we do with it. It covers this website only.

This website is not your medical record

Nothing you send through this website becomes part of your medical record, and this website is not a patient portal.

Please do not send medical details, test results, images, or anything you would consider private health information to us by email. Email is not a secure channel. If you need to discuss your condition, your treatment, or your records, call the office and we will take it from there.

Your medical information — the records created when you are treated — is handled under separate healthcare privacy law and under our Notice of Privacy Practices, not under this policy. Ask for a copy of that notice at any of our offices, or call us and we will send you one.

What we collect

Information you give us. This website has no contact form and no other place to type anything, so it does not collect a name, an email address, a phone number or a message from you. If you email or call the practice, what you tell us is handled by the practice, not by this website.

Information collected automatically. Like nearly every website, our host keeps standard server records of requests: the page requested, the date and time, the referring page, the browser and device type, and an IP address. These records exist to keep the site running, secure and fast.

We do not ask for, and you should not send, Social Security numbers, insurance identifiers, payment card details, or health information through this website.

Cookies and similar technologies

A cookie is a small file a website stores on your device so it can recognize your browser on a later visit.

What we use. This website uses Google Analytics to understand which pages people read and how they move through the site, and Google Tag Manager, which is the tool that loads it. Neither runs until you say yes. On your first visit you will see a banner asking, and nothing is set until you choose — if you decline, or never answer, no analytics cookie is created at all.

The cookies this sets. If you agree to analytics, Google sets cookies named _ga and _ga_ followed by a string of characters, which distinguish one browser from another so a returning visitor is not counted twice. They expire after two years unless you delete them sooner. You may also still have older cookies named _gid or _gat from the previous version of this website. Separately, and whatever you choose, we store your cookie choice itself in your browser so that we do not ask you again on every page — that record stays on your device and is not sent to anyone.

What this means on a medical website. Please understand what analytics can see: the address of each page you open here is sent to Google, and some of those addresses name a joint or a procedure. We never attach your name or your email address to that information, and we do not ask Google to identify you. But if you would rather Google saw none of it, decline the banner — the site works exactly the same either way.

Maps. Our contact page can show a Google map of each office. The map does not load, and nothing is sent to Google, until you choose to open it — the page shows a button instead. If you do open a map, Google may set its own cookies, and what happens then is governed by Google's privacy policy rather than ours. You can get directions without opening a map by using the “Open in Google Maps” link instead.

The groups you can choose between. Our banner sorts cookies into these:

Strictly necessary. Needed for the site to work and to stay secure — for example, remembering your cookie choice so we do not ask again. These cannot be switched off, and they are not used to track you.
Performance and analytics. Google Analytics. These tell us which pages are read and where people get stuck, so we can improve the site, and they are reported to us in aggregate rather than as individual visitors. We do not set these unless you agree.
Functional. These remember a preference you have set. We do not set these unless you agree.
Advertising and tracking. We do not run advertising on this website and we do not knowingly use advertising cookies. Because Google Tag Manager is a container that can load further Google services, we gate it behind the same permission: if you decline, none of it loads.

Your choices. When the banner appears you can accept or decline the optional groups, and you can change your mind at any time from the same control. You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings — every major browser offers this under Privacy or Settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may stop parts of the site working.

Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control. Browsers send the older “Do Not Track” signal inconsistently and there is no agreed standard for answering it, so we do not respond to it. We do respond to Global Privacy Control: if your browser or an extension sends that signal, we treat it as a decision to decline, no analytics loads, and we do not show you the banner at all.

Changing your mind. Use the “Cookie Preferences” link at the bottom of any page. If you withdraw permission you had given, we delete the analytics cookies already on your device and reload the page so that nothing keeps running. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics on every website, not only this one.

How we use what we collect

We use it to:

reply to you, book your appointment, or answer your question;
keep the website secure, available and working properly;
understand in aggregate which parts of the site are useful, and improve them.

We do not sell your personal information for money, and we do not hand your name, email address or phone number to advertisers. The analytics described above do send Google the pages you view on this site; you can stop that at any time by declining cookies or using the “Cookie Preferences” link at the bottom of any page.

Who we share it with

Service providers who run the site for us — our website host, and the service that delivers contact-form messages to the practice. They may only use what they handle to provide that service to us.
Where the law requires it, or to protect the safety, rights or property of our patients, our staff, or the public.

That is the whole list.

How long we keep it

We keep contact-form enquiries only as long as we need them to answer you and to keep a record of the enquiry, and then we dispose of them. Server logs are kept for a short period for security and troubleshooting.

Keeping it safe

This website is served over an encrypted connection, and we limit who inside the practice can see contact-form messages. No method of transmitting information over the internet is completely secure, which is why we ask you to keep medical details off this website and to call us instead.

Your choices

You can browse this entire website without giving us any personal information at all. Nothing on it requires an account, and no page requires you to fill in a form to read it.

If you have contacted the practice and want to know what we hold, or want it deleted, call us and we will help.

Children

This website is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has sent us information, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will post the revised version here and update the date below. If we make a significant change to what we collect or why, we will say so clearly on the site.
